Vision day
I didn’t write a blog post yesterday, but I’d still like to end the month with 31 snippets. So here it is.
Feels fitting to write about why a blog didn’t happen. It was ‘Vision Day’ at my company. What that meant for me was:
6:30am wakeup call
8am trek to the office
8:35am office arrival, already packed.
8:35am - 1:30pm cram in all the work that I had to get done both yesterday and get on top of stuff for tomorrow. You don’t really want to have much work to do the day after Vision…
1:30pm - 1:45pm quick sandwich.
1:45pm - 3:15pm keep plugging, primarily on editing a video that was the definition of me biting off a bit more than I wanted to chew.
3:15pm - 3:18pm promising my friend that I would absolutely be ready to leave in 15 minutes.
3:18pm - 3:30pm finishing the video edits! Sending it out!
3:30pm - 4pm commuting to the event venue. 7th and 35th, right by MSG.
4pm - 5:30pm listening to a presentation on the ‘future of the company’. Lots of hype words. Lots of promises. Lots of mentions of ai.
5:30pm bar opens
5:30pm - 9pm open bar, mingling. Three escapes to the bathroom. Many glasses of water. Many glasses of not water. Some decent french fries.
9pm - 11pm wait! Don’t leave! We’re starting a tab on the CEO!
11pm - 11:59pm come with us to a bar across the street! People are there already!
And that, folks, is how 12am rolled around sans blog!
